Members of the nationwide state-run Government Services Insurance System (GSIS) could repay their loans through Meralco Bayad centers from January 22 next year.
In a statement on Monday, GSIS said it had partnered with the Meralco Bayad Center to accept loan payments from GSIS members across the country in a bid to provide an accessible payment system amid the pandemic. .
GSIS President and CEO Rolando L. Macasaet and CIS Bayad Center Inc. President and CEO Lawrence Y. Ferrer signed the agreement in a virtual ceremony on December 21.
“From January 22, 2021, GSIS members will be able to pay their GSIS loans at the Bayad Center closest to their home. Hindi na kailangang pumunta sa GSIS branch just to settle loan obligations, ”Macasaet said. “This is part of our continued efforts to make our services fast and convenient. On behalf of the Bayad Center, Ferrer assured GSIS members that their hard-earned payments will get into the right hands.

GSIS members who can benefit from the Bayad Center facility are those who will pay the amortization of their loan in advance; have underpaid accounts; be in arrears with payment; or with accounts already in default (unpaid for more than six months). Aside from installing the Bayad Center, other payment methods available to GSIS members are agency remittances and over-the-counter payment at one of the GSIS branches.
The GSIS loan accounts that can be paid through Bayad Center are the Enhanced Salary Loan; Emergency loan assistance; One month payday loan for the summer; ECard cash advance; Consoloan improved; emergency loan; Emergency home loan program; Study now, pay the loan later; Fly PAL, ready to pay later; Student Assistance Loan (EAL); Stock purchase loan; advance on regular policy; advance on optional policy; GSIS financial aid loans; Debt Restructuring and Repayment Program; General Purpose Loans (MPL) and other GSIS loans to come.
GSIS members should present an SMS notification received from GSIS or loan balances displayed through eGSISMO and go to the nearest Bayad Center and complete a transaction slip with their full name, Business Partner Number (BP), the type of loan, the amount of the payment and the cell phone number. . The slip, which will be validated by Bayad Center, will serve as proof of payment. Payments from GSIS members accepted at Bayad Center will be made to GSIS in real time. Payers will receive a payment confirmation by SMS within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of payment made.
